2014 Tour Day France: Introduction

Thursday - July 3, 2014 - En Route to France

A quotidian aggregation of the day’s events at the Tour de France, as experienced by an enthusiastic eight-pound miniature dachshund named Manuel.

In preparation for the 2014 Tour de France, Manual for Speed examined several approaches to covering the race. Two options quickly rose to the surface:

  1. Send three photographers, an assistant, two moto drivers, and a personal chef to create daily photo essays about the race.
  2. Send a four-man video crew, two writers, and an editor to create a four-part documentary about this year’s Tour de France.

Ultimately, however, a far more cost-efficient approach was chosen. Manual for Speed will be sending Manuel, an eight-pound miniature dachshund currently working toward obtain an online degree in New Media Journalism from Full Sail University from his home in Miami-Dade county.

We welcome Manuel to the MFS family, and wish him the very best on this, his first European adventure.
