At its core, this project is about how Crit Racing is inherently more accessible and diverse (and, tbh, rad) than most cycling disciplines, but but but but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t and shouldn’t be even more accessible and diverse. Which is why Manual For Speed, with help from our sponsors—Cycling Tips, Cannondale, Sportful and Smith Optics— has created a grant specifically designed to support a Cat 3/4/5 BIPOC/LGBTQIA2S+ crit racing team.

What we’re doing right now:

We’re building an enjoyable, educational and interactive online grant application that will launch December 15th and stay open until January 15th. If you’re thinking of entering, please start working on that team deck!

We’re enlisting a panel of three experts from the BIPOC/LGBTQIA2S+ community, who have experience building, running and maintaining a cycling team, to review the applicants and to make the final decision.

The Do Racing Grant will be awarded to one team based on a subjective-but-thoughtful-and-careful review of each team’s trajectory, goals, planning, needs, etc.
